Megan received her associate's degree from Gateway Community and Technical College in 2013. In May 2019, Megan suffered from a heart attack but with perseverance and determination, she enrolled at NKU to complete her bachelor's degree a few months later in August of 2019. On top of taking courses, she cares for her 2 children and husband. Megan anticipates graduating this spring semester, on the Dean's List, and hopes to work for the government helping to shape policies for individuals and families with disabilities. She also plans to pursue a master's degree.
Logan has earned an associate’s degree in paramedicine, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and is now pursuing a 2nd bachelor’s degree in nursing. Hehas previously worked as a critical-care paramedic in Hawaii before moving to NKY. He is a nationally certified paramedic, has peer-reviewed publications in chemistry with a focus in computational chemistry of aqueous solutions, is a professional scuba diver, a 2nd Dan (2nd degree black belt) in Shotokan Karate, and an avid movie buff.
Cam was selected as one of the 20 national scholarship recipients for Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society for Adult Learners for the 2021-22 academic year.
Cam is a single parent of a 6 year old daughter and was born and raised in Union, KY. He graduated from Cincinnati State with an associate's degree in mechanical engineering and worked as an engineer for 8 years before realizing his calling to be a medical professional. Upon graduation, Cam hopes to spend the rest of his career as a respiratory therapist specializing in pediatrics and pulmonary function testing.
Roberto is a transfer, first generation college student from Costa Rica, and although English is his second language, he earned a 4.0 GPA during his first year at NKU! He quickly became involved on campus as a senator on the Student Government Association and a member of the Student Union Operations team. He has been named to the Scholar's list twice and is currently a tutor for Learning PLUS. He says his experience at NKU has been amazing and he makes sure he takes every opportunity to share his love and respect for this institution!
Duncan has been pursuing his degree in Computer Information Technology part-time over the last couple of years and was just recently selected as the NKU Esports Varsity Coach. He played video games casually and found out about the Esports club at NKU and that's where things changed! The club started as a group of students playing video games for fun to a much larger group of students competing for fame and scholarships! The inaugural team consists of 5 Rocket League players that have been invited to compete in National Collegiate gameplay under Duncan's direction. The club still operates a casual or competitive scene for gamers of any caliber and are growing everyday. If you would like to get involved, Duncan invites you to jump right in! After 19 years out of the classroom, Chrisula took advantage of her employer’s flexible scheduling policies and tuition reimbursement and began her education at NKU nearly 4 years ago. She says this journey has far exceeded her expectations. While at NKU, Chrisula has taken advantage of research and volunteer opportunities alongside NKU faculty. The “icing on the cake” for her was being nominated and ultimately selected as the 2019 Adult Student of the Year.
A dental assistant for nearly twenty years, mother of two, and married to "the best husband in the world", she says her lifelong dream is to earn her degree in psychology and become a clinical mental health counselor. She also plans to pursue a doctorate in psychology to learn everything she possibly can in this field. She says she is proud of herself because it is not easy to leave your comfort zone and she is proved to herself that she has the drive, dedication, courage, and perseverance to be successful in everything she does.
