CINSAM accepts proposals each fall for fun, hands-on summer camps and academies that get K-12 students excited and curious about STEM subjects. These popular summer programs are created and delivered by NKU faculty/staff and qualified community members on topics in STEM. Read on to learn more about this enriching community outreach opportunity.

HOW IT WORKS

Camps/Academies take place:

  • in June and July
  • for 5 days (M-F)
  • during business hours

Program leaders:

  • design the program
  • select personnel to help run the program
  • deliver the program

CINSAM handles:

  • funding
  • marketing
  • hiring
  • logistics

Summer Camps (grades K - 9)

Camp funding is available to anyone as long the focus of the program is STEM-related and the camp leaders have expertise in STEM education.

  • Non-NKU employees must work with CINSAM’s Program Manager to ensure proper access to facilities and fit with university structures.

Summer Academies (grades 9 - 12)

Academy funding is available to NKU faculty and staff from CINSAM-supported STEM departments. Academies are designed to offer high school students learning experiences in a STEM discipline, as well as some exposure to elements of campus life.

NOW ACCEPTING PROPOSALS


CINSAM is requesting proposals for the 2024 Ashland Endowed Summer Enrichment Program in STEM, STEM education, and related areas. Hands-on, active-learning practices are expected in all programming. We will accept proposals for teacher professional development (PD) programs this year if the PD is incorporated into a camp or academy for students.

Instructions and materials needed are as follows:

  1. Carefully read through the 2024 Ashland Programs RFP.

  2. Download the 2024 Ashland Summer Program Proposal Spreadsheet and complete the requirements on each tab.

  3. Submit Proposal by December 11, 2023.
