Loch Norse Magazine is NKU's only undergraduate-led magazine of creative writing, published annually in the Department of English. In addition to the written word, they are known around campus for their monthly open mic nights.  

Open Mic Nights

Refreshments at 6:30pm, readings begin at 7pm

Location TBA

  • February 21st, featuring Stephen Leigh
  • March 20th, featuring Dr. DaMaris Hill
  • April 17th, featuring Senior Night reading

We now offer anonymous readings for our Open Mic Nights. Give your piece to our Loch Norse staff at the beginning of the Open Mic Night and one of our staff members will read it in your place.

Submissions open on October 1st, 2019 and will be open until January 31st, 2020. Click through the magazines featured on this page to see what kind of work we accept.

Submissions should be sent through our form above, but we also accept submissions and submission questions through lochnorse@gmail.com. With each submission, please include a 100-word author bio.
