Kendra's project, Forgotten in the Flora is comprised of three short stories showcasing themes of horror and forgotten folklore, these stories recant tales of forgotten myths in our modern world.
Kendra Darby will be graduating in May of 2021, majoring in English in the creative writing track. Kendra aspires to be a published author after graduation.
The title of Shianne Fuehner's capstone project is “The Collection of Me: The Writer.” This title comes from the idea of the portfolio’s purpose of showing the viewers how she has progressed through out my four years of her undergraduate career. The cover letter introduces the project to the readers, what they are about to encounter, and what work was put into the papers for editing purposes.
After graduation, Shianne plans to take a year off to get more experience in the law profession and to save money. She will then proceed to continue hereducation through law school to obtain my Juris Doctorate.
Takia's capstone, titled The Chronicles of Madam Kesh, is an urban fiction about a young woman struggling to find herself and her path to success. As Kesh goes through the turmoil of struggling to pay for school, she enters a life that changes her plans for the future. Her choices also impact how she decides to leave her impact on the world while figuring out if this lifestyle is one she will continue with forever.
After graduating in December, Takia will be focusing on writing and preparing to embark on her next journey which includes attending law school in the Fall of 2021.
Alex's project, which is the creation of San Diego Football Club, was designed to showcase his interest and skills in English, creative writing, and sports marketing.
Alex's interests consist of writing, reading, and watching or attending sports. His plans after graduation are to move to San Antonio, Texas and pursue a career in sports writing or sports marketing.
Skylar Mullins's project, “A Professional Rendering of Me”, is a professional portfolio, composed of pieces from her academic career that embody her numerous writing skills in different genres.
Skylar is a Senior English Major and Marketing Minor. She is looking forward to a career in publishing or creative copywriting.
Cassandra's capstone, titled, "Trophy of Experience: Portfolio from 2016-2020" is a writing and multimedia portfolio which spans her four years of undergraduate study at NKU. In it, there is the evolution of her voice but moreover pieces which represent her identity and dearest beliefs.
Cassandra is a December 2020 graduate of degrees in English Writing Studies and French Language, with career goals in foreign language education abroad. She enjoys reading, writing, travelling, and spending time with her cats.
Maddie's project is “Vienna, 1907”, a short piece of speculative historical fiction set in the world of ballet at the turn of the century. The story follows Elisabeth and Maria, dancers at the Vienna State Opera when it was under Gustav Mahler’s lead.
Madelynn Schweitzer is a creative writing major, with hopes of publishing a book in the future. Outside of school, Maddie is a dance teacher at Manyet Dance.
Andrew's final project is about 3 different stories that will eventually tie together. They are stand-alone stories that will eventually go towards a novel he plans to write. "Man on the Roof" is the beginning to the story, about a man named Ray. "Last Year" is the second part of the story, about a group of people in purgatory. "Guardian" is the third part about what happens after he makes it to Heaven.
Andrew would like to work in sports. He would also like to write stories for people to read.
