  • JPN 202 Intermediate Japanese II (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): JPN 201 or equivalent. Continuation of JPN 201; additional practice in language structural patterns and cultural influences.
  • JPN 304 Japanese Composition and Conversation (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): JPN 202 or equivalent. Advanced practice in writing Japanese compositions and oral conversation skills.
  • JPN 307 Introduction to Japanese Translation (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): JPN 202 or consent of instructor. Introductory translation course providing an overview of the considerations that the translator must take into account when approaching a text. Attention is paid to the structural differences between Japanese and English, cross-cultural differences in stylistics, writing with clarity and reference work. Students will have hands-on experience.
