There is no penalty for guessing on the WebCAPE placement test. To begin the test, go to the WebCAPE site. The link will take you will be taken to the registration page, with the logo "TrueNorth" where you will create an account by entering your first and last name and your student ID number. Then you will create a password. Be sure to remember the password. Then, when you log into your new account, you will be able to choose the language you are interested in and begin the test.
Once you have your results, contact the department at 859-572-7650 or worldlanglit@nku.edu to receive a permit to enroll in the correct course. The NKU computer system will not allow you to enroll in a course above the 101 level without such a permit. Remember to supply your student ID number (the 9-digit number in MyNKU).
Can I take the test a second time?
The new WebCAPE gives you only one attempt to take the test. However, you can take it a second time if you think you'll have a better score. In order to do that, contact the department chair, Dr. Connelly, at connellyc1@nku.edu or the academic coordinator, Felicia Share, at sharef1@nku.edu so they can set things up for you to have another attempt. Please include a current daytime phone number in your e-mail.
What if I have other problems taking the test on-line?
If you have difficulty taking the test on-line, call the department at 859-572-7650, or e-mail Dr. Connelly or Ms. Share. Again, please include a current daytime phone number in your message.
