The Carol Swarts Milburn Scholarship in World Languages and Literatures supports students with a major in World Languages and Literatures with study abroad costs, including tuition, travel, and room in board.
Eligibility criteria:
- Must be accepted for admission as a degree-seeking student at Northern Kentucky University
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be pursuing a major in World Languages and Literatures
- Must be in their second year and/or past the intermediate 202-level classes
Distribution of award: The award will be distributed by the Office of Student Financial Assistance, dependent upon funds available from the NKU Foundation.
Amount of award: Dependant upon available funds.
Duration: For the semester in which the student is studying abroad.
Automatically renewable: No.
Minimum hours of enrollment: 12 credit hours per semester.
Selection procedure:
- Student must complete the NKU scholarship application by March 15th, the NKU scholarship application deadline.
- All scholarship applications meeting eligibility criteria will be forwarded to the Chair of the World Languages and Literatures Department, College of Arts and Sciences, for review and consideration.
- The Chair of the World Languages and Literatures Department, College of Arts and Sciences, will recommend award recipient(s) to the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
- The Office of Student Financial Assistance will review the Chair's recommendation(s) and inform him/her of any problems regarding the award.
- The Chair of the World Languages and Literatures Department, College of Arts and Sciences, will notify the recipient(s) of the award.
- The Office of Student Financial Assistance will send a secondary notification of award.
