Inaugural Distinguished Alumni Celebration and Keynote Address

Honoring Mrs. Debbie Moak

Keynote Address Held Sept. 22, 2016
Keeping Families and Communities Safe

Understanding that 90 percent of Americans who are addicted to tobacco, alcohol or other substances started smoking, drinking or using drugs before they were 18 years old, this keynote will equip participants to develop an annual family prevention plan. Participants will receive information on primary substances of abuse and training on the signs and symptoms of adolescent substance use.

Participants will learn how creating an annual plan allows parents/caregivers to form a strong and influential bond with their child by opening communication and setting clear limits and boundaries. The goals of this keynote address are to enhance family communication skills and prepare participants to answer difficult questions regarding adolescent substance use.
