Each fall and spring, approximately 20 NKU students join the Development and Alumni Relations team for the Student Calling Program. They spend their evenings speaking with our alumni while gaining valuable work experience. If you receive a call, we hope you'll share what you're doing now and how your experience at NKU contributed to your success.
Autumn is a Biology Major on the Ecology and Organismal studies track. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and will graduate in 2020.
Autumn decided to come to NKU after attending registration the summer before her freshman year.
“I saw the small classes and overwhelming comaraderie that showcased the best part of NKU,” Autumn says. “I was really impressed with the campus and the compassionate professors.”
This is Autumn’s second year as a phonathon caller, and she is passionate about hearing from NKU Alumni.
“I decided to join phonathon because I wanted an on-campus job that helped the school that I have fallen in love with. Fundraising has quickly become a passion for me!”
Autumn says she hopes alumni realize how important they are to the university and students.
“The students of NKU work hard to become productive members of society through their education,” she says. “Donating to your alma mater supports students for years to come. We greatly appreciate all the support that we receive from alumni like you!”
While the calling program raises significant funds for the university, it also allows our students to share their personal perspective on NKU with friends and alumni and explain why annual giving is so important to NKU's continued excellence.
The Student Calling Program is an excellent opportunity for the student callers to develop strong communication and customer service skills. Students participate in a rigorous training program that leaves them well-prepared for the workforce.
