The NIRC's roots reach deep into the local community. Established in 2006, the NIRC is the direct result of a University Community Partnership Grant from Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Currently, we are still collaborating within our strong partnership with St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Descriptions of NKNRC awards
Vision Award: Proposed Research:
The Vision Award for Proposed Research is given to a nurse or student whose proposed research project is setting the stage for future research. The proposed research study should include all the elements of a well-designed research study which will improve or contribute to evidence based practice. The recipient of this award will receive a $125 award from NKNIRC
Vision Award: Proposed Clinical Project:
The Vision Award for Proposed Clinical Project Award is given to a nurse or student whose proposed clinical project shows promise to have a positive impact on patient healthcare outcomes. The recipient of this award will receive a $125 award from NKNIRC
Exemplary Clinical Project /Evidence Based Practice Award:
The award for Exemplary Clinical Project or Evidence Based Practice Project is given to nurses or students whose completed clinical project demonstrates excellence in clinical practice. The recipient of this award will receive a $250 award from the Rho Theta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Researcher of the Year Award:
The Researcher of the year Award is given to a professional that has completed a research study that impacts clinical practice. The recipient of this award will receive a $500 award from St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
Exemplary Allied Health Award:
The Allied Health Exemplary Award is given to an allied health professional or student who has completed either an exemplary study or clinical project that impacts practice. The recipient of this award will receive a $250 award from the College of Health Professions Allied Health Department.

To qualify to present and be considered for a poster award, the poster document and payment must be submitted by the deadline of Thursday, April 5, 2018 at noon.
Power Point Formatting Instructions:
To format the Poster in Power Point: Go to Design, click on Page Setup, click on Custom, Type in width 48 inches, Type in height of 36 inches, Number of slides - 1.
To save slide as a .pdf file:
From the home screen, go to file, in the left hand column will be an option to ‘Save as Adobe PDF’
The completed .pdf file should be e-mailed to Hannah Brennan at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 5, 2018.
Title the subject line: PPT 2018 Poster Presentation w/ your name and institutional affiliation. If you need assistance in saving the file as a .pdf contact Hannah Brennan.
