In order to earn educational credit for an internship (396 course), students must be able to work approximately 150 hours in a single semester to earn three credit hours.  In order to earn 3 credit hours for co-op (CEP 300) students must be able to work approximately 300 hours in a single semester.

          C- or higher in CIT
          271 or CIT 371

          Repeatable for up to 3

CEP 300
     Minimum Requirements:
          2.20 Cumulative GPA
          30 Earned Hours
          Experience Must Be Paid
          1, 2, 3, and 6 Credit Hours

CEP 300 Frequently Asked Questions

For CIT 396, CSC 396, and DSC 396, students need to report the experience on HireNKU. Once both the employer's and faculty's approval is received through HireNKU, then a permit is issued by Rebecca Hamm (hammr4@nku.edu). It is advised to discuss learning objectives with the faculty member that is in charge of experiential learning. You can find the faculty coordinator for your specific class at http://classschedule.nku.edu/

For CEP 300, Students need to report the experience on HireNKU first. Once both the employer and faculty's approval is received through HireNKU, then Career Services will register the student into CEP 300
