Blackboard and Canvas: Most classes use this learning management software to share course documents, upload assignments and communicate electronically. We are in the middle of switching from Blackboard to Canvas, so you may have classes in either. Log onto one.nku.edu for both.

Email on Smartphones: Download the Outlook app. Launch the app. Tap Add Account. Enter email (user@mymail.nku.edu for students; user@nku.edu for employees) or contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
Emergency Text Messaging: Sign up for Norse A!ert to receive text message notifications for school closing and other important information.
Equipment Checkout: Individual computer and tablets are available for checkout for 2-3 week periods. Learn more.
File Storage: Students and employees have access to cloud and personal storage space. Learn more.
Hardware Discounts: We have negotiated discounts on certain computer models through Dell and Apple for personal purchases. Also, Western Digital offers discounts on personal purchases of external storage drives through their WD Education Store.
Help: Contact our IT Help Desk via chat, phone or submit a service request online. Or visit our walk-in center, Norse Tech Bar, in UC on the plaza level.
Internet Access: We offer wireless and wired  internet access in most areas of campus. Visit our wireless page or wired page for more information on which connection is best suited for your needs.
Microsoft Office: We offer a different version of Microsoft Office depending on if you are installing on a personal computer, NKU-owned computer or smartphone/tablet. Learn more
Mobile Apps: NKU was one of the first universities in the nation to have an iPhone app. Today, NKU continues to push the boundaries of mobile application development, creating apps for iOS and Android platforms.
myNKU: myNKU is the web portal for financial, human resource and student information.

One.nku.edu: One.nku.edu is a portal designed for single sign on of all the tasks you use most. 

Password Reset: You can reset your password online. Or call the IT Help Desk for assistance.
Software: Don't purchase software before checking out if NKU offers an educational discount. We also offer a virtual lab that allows you to log into a lab computer from anywhere you have internet access therefore letting you use software that you might not have installed on your own machine (SPSS, Microsoft Office, etc.) Check out our list of software available. If you are having software problems, contact the IT Help Desk.

Survey software: NKU has a campus license for Qualtrics.
Training classes: Learn more about the classes we offer, free of charge. 
Web Conferencing/Online Meetings: NKU has a campus license for WebEx (web conferencing) and Microsoft Lync (e-communications). We also over lecture recording software (Tegrity) Learn more. 

VPN: The Virtual Private Network is how you connect securely to certain NKU systems when you are not on campus.
