Encourage Students to Apply for Steely's Celebration Research Award
Are your encouraging your students to submit their abstracts for the Celebration of Student Research and Creativity? Are you acting as faculty sponsor for any Celebration students? If so, be sure to encourage them to apply for the 7th Annual W. Frank Steely Celebration Research Award, which is intended to promote the role of the academic library in providing support and resources as part of the academic research process.
All students who participate in Celebration and whose projects contain a significant research component are eligible to apply for the award. The applicants who demonstrate the most effective use of Steely resources will receive an award of between $250-$500 dollars.
To apply, students need to submit an application form, a narrative detailing how they used Steely resources, services, or personnel as part of their research, as well as their completed research project (acceptable file formats include Word, PPT, PDF, MP3, MP4, JPEG and others—students may also submit links to online projects). Students must also submit their abstracts to the Celebration website and participate in the Celebration event in April 2018.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until April 23, 2018. Award winner(s) will be announced in early May. Up to 2 winners may be selected.
