Borrowing Policy

Identification for NKU faculty, students, and staff is a valid NKU picture All-Card. Students who do not have a validated ID may show proof of current enrollment from the Registrar or Student Account Services (listing their name and Social Security Number) and a picture ID.

Other categories of borrowers must show a valid ID from their institution. A picture ID such as a driver’s license will be required for verification if the library card or ID doesn’t contain a picture.

Items from the circulating collection may be borrowed for the time period designated by the patron category. Media Collection materials circulate for 14 days to qualified patrons.

Online Hold Request

Patrons may request that an item in Steely Library's circulating collection be held at the third floor Public Service Desk for pickup. With an item on the library catalog screen, click the "PLACE A HOLD" tab. Provide the information at the prompt. Patrons are notified when the item is available, either by email or phone. The item will remain on hold for one week.
