The Northern Kentucky University community has a new online tool to share our achievements with the world.
Departments on campus can now create digital merit badges for students, colleagues
and alumni who have done something special. The merit badge and the story behind it will be posted on nku.meritpages.com and then it can be shared on Facebook and social media outlets for all to see.
“Merit badges give NKU faculty, staff and students an opportunity to highlight our
campus and community accomplishments,” said Tye Mortensen, assistant director of
communications for the Office of Admissions.
“A badge can be used to promote any news story, large or small, whether it’s a research project, participating in community service or saluting a student leader in your program. This allows us to share the amazing things we do at NKU.”
Merit badges can be created by anyone on campus. Some examples include the Office
of Admissions awarding a badge to scholarship recipients and the College of Health
Professions recognizing their student ambassadors. There’s a story behind each one,
and you can see them all at nku.meritpages.com.
