College is voluntary and expensive. You manage your own time. You must balance your responsibilities and set priorities. These realities can be a shock for first-time freshmen, but everybody will learn these lessons at some point during the first few weeks of classes.
We now have a chance to reach out to our students and classmates in a different way than we ever have before to get these important messages and others across.
Four very successful students who just made it through their first year on campus are going to take on that responsibility!
These NKU students will be reaching out to new students in the coming weeks via Twitter messages of advice and encouragement. They will post these messages from time to time throughout the summer and even into the fall semester with the hashtag #NKUFirstStep.
Topics will include offices on campus that can help students throughout their academic careers, service organizations, student life, Greek life, study tips, how to prepare for classes, how to learn about professors, and more!
