Catherine Schwegman is graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the College of Informatics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences. She began her studies at Northern Kentucky University in the fall of 2014. While at NKU, she was involved in Delta Gamma Fraternity, SOAR Scholars, STEM Ambassadors, College of Informatics Ambassadors and Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honors Fraternity.
Catherine has been very active in research and learning opportunities on and off campus during her studies. During her freshman year, she conducted undergraduate research in the Department of Computer Science. She has also completed two computer science internships with major corporations: in the summer of 2016 she interned with Johnson Controls, Inc., and in the summer of 2017 she interned with GE Aviation. At the end of her internship with GE she was offered a full-time position in their Digital Technology Leadership Program, which she will begin this June. In the future, Catherine hopes to have a career in software development and to earn her master’s degree.
