Update on Strategic Plan Implementation Teams

As I mentioned at the January Convocation, I have appointed nine implementation teams to develop cross-divisional plans that will guide our work on the implementation of our strategic plan, Fuel the Flame.  In order to keep the campus community informed about the teams and their progress, we are adding to the Strategic Planning website.  On this webpage, you will find links to the following:

  • Implementation Teams, which is designed as a publicly available site to provide the purpose/scope, membership, and timeline for each implementation team.  On some individual team pages, you will find a link to an online form where you can share your ideas with the team.  Currently, there are online forms for Financial Resources, Academic Innovation, and Community Engagement.  More information will be added as the work of teams progresses this semester.

  • Teams Portal, which directs you to a protected website requiring an NKU login.  From there, you can access each team’s agendas, minutes, reading materials, and more.

  • Spring 2014 Forums, which will provide the dates, times, and locations for open forums that are being hosted by various implementation teams.  Not all open forums have been scheduled, so check back often for updates.  We will also post notices for forums in Midweek.

In addition, we held a Planning Collaboration Retreat in January with all members of the implementation teams, as well as the President’s Cabinet.  Dr. Debra Humphreys, Vice President for Policy and Public Engagement at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) gave the keynote address.  We also had “roundtable” discussions and 14 innovative IGNITE! presentations made by campus colleagues.  We invite you to view Dr. Humphreys’ presentation and the IGNITE presentations at the Planning Collaboration Retreat webpage.

I am grateful to our campus colleagues who are working on teams.  And I encourage all of you to participate in this phase of our implementation efforts over the next few months by sharing your ideas and expertise with these teams.  Together, we will continue to Fuel the Flame.
