Delegate Information


We are honored to welcome delegates from various colleges and universities to Northern Kentucky University on Friday, March 29, 2019, for the installation of Ashish Vaidya as our sixth president.

Delegates from colleges and universities from across the country are attending the investiture ceremony to celebrate President Vaidya. They participate in this processional as representatives of their academic institution. The investiture ceremony features an academic processional with members robed in their academic regalia.

NKU faculty are also participating in the processional and may represent both NKU as a member of the faculty and/or their alma mater institution. NKU student leaders are also invited to participate as representatives of NKU’s student body


Check-In & Procession


If you would like to drop off your regalia to the arena before lunch, you may deliver it to BB&T Arena on Friday, March 29. Drop it off at the East Gate entrance in Lot O, where volunteers will check it for you. This service will be available from 10-11:30 a.m. We will move regalia to the conference room for you to collect when you arrive for lineup before the ceremony.  Please be sure to keep your check ticket with you. 

Arrival: 

Building doors for the ceremony will open at 1 p.m. Please arrive for lineup in BB&T Arena between 1-1:15 p.m. If you are driving to the arena, parking is suggested in the Welcome Center Garage (PLEASE NOTE: Parking is free and open across campus all day March 29 with the exception of Lot O).. Enter the arena via the main entrance near the flag poles and circle drop off  

Lineup and robing: 

Once you enter the arena, go to the conference room to lineup. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to direct you to the conference room and will also be in the room to assist with lineup All members of the processional must wear academic regalia You may leave your personal items in the lineup area as it will be locked during the ceremony. All processional members should be robed and lined up by 1:45 p.m., when we will move you into position. The processional onto the floor will begin at 2 p.m.  

During and after the ceremony: 

You will be led by marshals in gold gowns who will direct you during the processional and recessional. After the ceremony, you may return to the conference room to retrieve any personal items. You are welcome to join the reception for all guests up on the concourse

Academic Attire


University and College Delegates

All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire. If you do not have regalia, please contact the school or organization you are representing. A secure room will be available in BB&T Arena for robing and leaving your personal belongings during the ceremony.
