It is the student’s responsibility to pay all tuition, fees, and any other charges in full by the first day of classes for each semester. A $50 Payment Plan Enrollment fee will be charged if the student’s balance is not paid in full by this day. Subsequently, if a student has any remaining balance at the end of each month, the student will also be charged a 1.25% account maintenance fee on their outstanding balance.

If a student has applied for financial aid late or the student’s financial aid is not appearing on the student’s account before the tuition due date, out of pocket payment must be made to avoid these fees. Absent of FA estimated funds appearing and/or any out of pocket payment, the student will automatically be placed on the installment plan and charged the appropriate fees.
Students receive account statements in their NKU email each month detailing their account activity. There is no paper billing sent by the office. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor their online account and NKU email address. Per the NKU Registration Agreement: Northern Kentucky University's official method of correspondence with students is via their NKU assigned email address.
A petition does not guarantee removal of any or all fees. If approved, it will be noted as a one-time only exception and a credit will be posted to the account. Please allow up to 1 week for committee review. You will be notified via your NKU email address of committee’s decision. All decisions are final.
