Requirements

• Available to incoming freshmen students declaring majors in the following STEM disciplines: Applied Software Engineering, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Neuroscience, Physics, Pre-Engineering, or Statistics

• Achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school

• Test scores ARE NOT required for the CINSAM Scholarship for the 2022-23 School year. If scores are submitted, they will be reviewed.

• While not required, we recommend all students complete the FAFSA by February 1^st. 

• Applicants must complete their admissions application by February 15, 2022, Submit the $40 application fee, high school transcript(s), and (optional) ACT or SAT scores to be considered.

• Select students will participate in an on campus scholarship interview during the spring semester for final consideration.

Amount

• Maximum of $3,000 total towards tuition, books, and/or housing based on need

Renewal Requirements for Subsequent Years

• Remain in one of the STEM disciplines (you may change majors within STEM and remain eligible).

• Earn 24 or more credit hours per academic year (AP, IB, dual enrollment, and transfer credits do not count).

• Make satisfactory progress toward your STEM degree as defined by following your approved academic plan.

• Maintain a cumulative NKU GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students with a GPA between 2.0 - 2.5 will be placed on a remediation plan to retain their scholarship.

• Students must have a Composite ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1210 or higher and rank in the top 25% of their high school class. If a student's high school does not have class rank information, then the student's GPA will be considered. Test scores ARE required for the Greaves Scholarship for the 2022-23 school year.

• Applicants must complete their admissions application by February 15, 2022, Submit the $40 application fee, high school transcript(s), and ACT or SAT scores to be considered.

• Select students will participate in an on campus scholarship interview during the spring semester for final consideration.

Amount

• Full in-state tuition and books (Scholarship recipients can only utilize one full NKU tuition scholarship/waiver)

Renewal Requirements

• Earn 28 or more credit hours per academic year (AP, IB, dual enrollment, and transfer credits do not count).

• Maintain a cumulative NKU GPA of 3.0 or higher and a 3.0 GPA or higher in your major.

• Students must demonstrate financial need based on the U.S. Department of Education rules for need-based Federal financial aid FAFSA. This considers the Cost of Attendance (COA) and Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) for the applicant. Students must fill out the FAFSA by February 1st to be eligible for this scholarship.

• Achieve a 2.75 GPA or higher in high school.

• Students receiving the S³OAR Scholarship must participate in the S³OAR Scholars Program.

• Maximum of $10,000 total towards tuition, books, and/or housing based on need

Renewal Requirements for Subsequent Years

• Remain in one of the STEM disciplines with full-time student status (you may change majors within STEM and remain eligible).

• Earn 24 or more credit hours per academic year (AP, IB, dual enrollment, and transfer credits do not count).

• Make satisfactory progress toward your STEM degree as defined by following your approved academic plan.

• Maintain a cumulative NKU GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students achieving a 2.5 at the end of their freshman year, a 2.6 or higher at the end of their sophomore year, or a 2.7 or higher at the end their junior year will remain eligible, but will undergo an approved remediation plan to retain their scholarship.

• Complete the FAFSA every year to document continuing financial need.
