When: Saturday, Sept. 24 from 1-5 pm
Where: At NKU REFS - 99 Harrison Ct., Melbourne, KY 41059.
We’ll be having Guided Wetlands Hikes, What’s in your pond?, Wetland Herps and How to ID Them, Turtle Races, Wild Wetland Wildflowers, Scavenger Hunts, a World of Honey Bees (things will be humming there), “What’s in Your Pond”, Feeders for the Fritillary and Other Butterflies, Building Native Bees Bungalows, and you can also try your hand at Horse-shoes (if you feel lucky!). Don’t forget your rain/muck boots! Come join the Adventure!
Nature Adventure Day is presented in tandem with Take a Child Outside (TACO)
Week and Green Umbrella’s Great Outdoor Weekend– all designed to
encourage children and adults to spend time together outdoors.
NKU REFS provides an operation base for a wide range of field research. The REFS facility is located adjacent to and facilitates the use of the St. Anne Woods and Wetlands Natural Areas. REFS is where research, education and nature merge.
