Bio

Zach has called NKU home for many years. After earning a degree from Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, he transferred to NKU where he double majored in history and social studies/secondary education. He later earned a master's degree in integrative studies, focusing on American history and popular culture. Zach spent eight years as an advisor and Assistant Director for the TRiO Educational Talent Search program before joining Learning PLUS as SI Coordinator in August 2016.

In addition to working hard at growing the SI program, Zach also teaches courses through the Popular Culture Studies program. His interests include popular music, film, and how popular entertainment influences and shapes each generation. He currently teaches courses on the Beatles and the 1960s, popular entertainment of the 1980s and 1990s, and the history of punk rock.

Zach plays guitar and is an avid music collector with decades worth of CDs, records, and cassettes taking up residence in the back of his house. He often jokes that when other kids were collecting baseball cards, he was collecting music! He lives in the ‘burbs of Cincinnati with his wife and two young daughters.
