Anthropological Perspectives

Annual Journal of the Northern Kentucky University Gamma Chapter of the Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honors Society

While students who are eligible for membership in Lambda Alpha are encouraged to apply, students submitting manuscripts do not need to be members of Lambda Alpha or an anthropology major or minor, but must be enrolled in NKU at the time that they submit their manuscript.

Anthropological Perspectives accepts submissions of course papers, independent research, and excerpts from theses that are from an anthropological perspective. Manuscripts that involve a research component (collection and analysis of primary data) will be ranked higher than secondary literature reviews.  Students submitting manuscripts are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisor to prepare their manuscript for submission.

Submissions will be peer reviewed, ranked, and selected for publication by the full-time anthropology faculty at Northern Kentucky University.  Manuscripts selected for publication will be peer edited by a student editorial team comprised of Lambda Alpha members.  The journal is published online on NKU’s Anthropology Program web site.

Manuscript submissions must be between 2,000 and 6,000 words, excluding references, follow the American Anthropological Association style, and be submitted via email in a Word document (.doc or .docx) format.

Submissions, and any questions or comments, may be sent to the current faculty sponsor(s).
