Lockdown Browser is a custom browser like Chrome or Firefox that some of your classes may require in order to take tests in Canvas. Several functions on your computer or tablet are restricted while taking a test in LockDown Browser. Your instructor may also use Respondus Monitor, a companion product for LockDown Browser, that records you while taking the test. Instructors will state in their course if they are using either of these tools.
You will need to download and install LockDown Browser on a Mac or PC.
Your instructor may also allow you to use LockDown Browser on an iPad. It is not currently available for Android devices.
Install LockDown Browser for iPad.
Once installed, you'll need to open the browser and access Canvas inside the LockDown Browser. Then you can navigate to your class and start your test.

Browser Requirements
LockDown Browser is a client application that is installed to a local computer. Both the Windows edition and the Mac edition of the browser are based on Chromium, Google's open source framework. Students do NOT need Google Chrome installed; nor will this version affect a Chrome browser that's already installed.
