The Regents Award is given to a senior student who has demonstrated professionalism and leadership within the University Community and who has an emphasis on continuation of graduate level work. A minimum grade point average of 3.3 is required. The student may show evidence of the intent to pursue further educational opportunities. This award will be presented upon completion of degree requirements. The award does not have to be given if the committee determines there are no suitable nominees during a particular year. The Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents sponsors this award.

When BriAuna Keys isn’t clocking her speed on the track, she’s embracing her passion for leadership across campus.

The Mason, Ohio, native is completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting and business information systems, with a minor in business administration. She found her love for accounting in her first class and knew it’s what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

Her love for these programs extends beyond the classroom. BriAuna served as mentor in the Learning Plus Center and NKU’s Supported Higher Education Project—impacting students’ lives and helping them grow.

BriAuna is a four-time Horizon League All-Academic Team honoree and winner of numerous medals. During her junior year, she was one of the two athletes selected to represent NKU and the Horizon League at the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum. The conference brings NCAA athletes from across the country to learn how to better lead teams, campuses and conferences.

“Every person that I have come into contact with at NKU has been so genuine. I’ve created so many meaningful relationships with the amazing people that I will miss every day,” BriAuna says. “From studying abroad in Ireland and Prague to watching the impact I have on mentoring students, my NKU experience has been amazing for me.”
As she sprints to the finish line, BriAuna plans to continue her accounting path as a CPA for a public accounting firm.
