Dear Colleagues:

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that one of our students, Christian Dichoso, passed away in his on-campus residence hall over the weekend.  Christian, 21, was a senior from Louisville, Ky., majoring in criminal justice.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Christian’s family, fraternity brothers and many friends.

Christian will be deeply missed as an engaged, active member of our Norse family.  He touched many lives here at NKU and was a caring individual. He was involved in numerous organizations on campus, including Theta Chi Fraternity, Student Government Association and Xavier University’s ROTC through the NKU Detachment. Additionally, Christian served as an intern with the NKU Campus Police department last year. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

To celebrate and honor Christian’s life, a public vigil will be held in the Student Union Ballroom on Tuesday, November 6 from 5 – 7 p.m. Members of Student Affairs will continue to work closely with fraternity members, residence halls students, and others impacted by the passing of Christian.

We care deeply about each and every individual on our campus and I ask that you care for one another during this difficult time. I also encourage anyone seeking support to contact our Health, Counseling, and Student Wellness Office at 572-5650 or you may find their services listed here: https://inside.nku.edu/hcsw/counseling.html. Please know that you are never alone – it is okay to reach out and ask for the help and support you need.

With my deepest sympathy,

Ashish
