Dear Colleagues:

It’s hard to imagine that in just a couple weeks we will begin a new calendar year — 2019! Shortly after that, we will welcome our students back to campus for the spring semester.

I invite you to join me as we celebrate the start of the spring semester at the Spring Convocation on Friday, January 18, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. in the James C. and Rachel M. Votruba Student Union Ballroom. Coffee and light refreshments will be served in the lobby beginning at 8:30 a.m.

This convocation will not be like the convocations we are used to at NKU. After a brief welcome at 9:00 a.m., we will show,Unlikely: In Pursuit of a Better U, a documentary directed by Jaye & Adam Fenderson that “investigates the college dropout crisis and the systemic barriers students face in their pursuit of an education and livable-wage career.”  Around 10:45 a.m., following the screening, we will hold a panel discussion regarding student success related to access, completion, and career and community engagement.

I look forward to sharing this important film and this exciting time of year with you.

Sincerely yours,
Ashish
