Dear Colleagues:
I hope that the first few weeks of the semester have been energizing and stimulating. Seeing our students on campus brimming with hope has reminded me that we are tasked with the tremendous responsibility of supporting their success.
During the listening sessions I have been privileged to attend these past few weeks, you have shared how much you look forward to helping our students succeed. This has filled me with both pride and optimism as we begin a new academic year.
As I mentioned at the fall convocation, our singular purpose must be on student success, aligned with the needs of the region. In order to achieve this, our primary task over the next six months will be to build our strategic framework around enhancing access, completion and career success for our students. I have asked various campus groups to submit nominations for the core team that will facilitate this important work.
The details of this process are quickly coming into focus. We will soon announce the members of the core team in addition to launching a comprehensive website where you can learn about and participate in the development of our strategic framework.
One way that you can lend a hand now is to nominate individuals to serve on the resource team. This is a group of subject matter experts from across campus that will serve as an internal advisory/consulting team that will support the work of the core team. If there is someone you would like to nominate, please email Ben Jager (jagerb1@nku.edu) by September 17 with their name, title and a brief description of why you are nominating them.
