Dear Campus Community:

Last week, Bonita Brown and Dale Stephenson, Co-Chairs of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (PEVPAA) search advisory committee informed you that due to scheduling conflicts, the timeline for completion of the search has been extended into early 2021.

Therefore, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Ande Durojaiye will serve as our Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs effective January 1, 2021. Ande has been with NKU for nearly three years serving as our Vice Provost of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and has a wide range of higher education experience prior to joining our university. Dr. Durojaiye earned a Doctorate of Higher Education Leadership from Vanderbilt University and also holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University. His research has focused on effective methods to improve undergraduate education and student persistence. I know he will keep our academic momentum moving forward during the transition. Ande will also chair the COVID-19 Preparedness Team during the Spring semester.

As previously announced, Provost Sue Ott Rowlands will be stepping down from her role at the end of December. We are grateful for Sue’s steady leadership of the Division of Academic Affairs over the past seven years, and most recently chairing the COVID-19 Preparedness Team. Please join me in thanking Sue and wishing her well on her future endeavors.

Sincerely,
Ashish Vaidya
