In order to register and prepare for your NKU / School-Based Scholars courses, you must have completed the SBS application packet, been admitted, and received your user ID (username) from NKU.
If you do not know or have lost your NKU User ID (username), please email nkusbs@nku.edu. Please include your first and last name and your high school in the email.
Please note: You'll need to change your password every 90 days.
Students will begin by setting or resetting their password.
If your internet browser is having trouble accessing the website, we recommend trying a different web browser.
To set up or access your NKU email, log in to your NKU email using your NKU username and NKU password.
Your email address is: (Your NKU Username)@mymail.nku.edu
Once set up, please begin checking your NKU email on a daily basis. The SBS Office recommends downloading the Microsoft Outlook app on your phone and logging in with your NKU email and password to have quick access to your email.
Any communication from NKU, including tuition statements, will be sent to your NKU email accounts.
The SBS program will take care of your registration for any course designated for your high school and/or your NKU-sponsored Boone County Early College course!

Course Advising:
Advising is highly recommended. Please check out our Dual-Credit Advising page for more information on how to schedule an advising appointment and/or transfer credits from other colleges/universities.
Please note: students may not be permitted to take restricted 7-week sections (noted as OnlineA/LEC/ONLR in the registration system), courses taught at other high schools, MUSA courses, or the following reserved courses: ENG 101I, ENG 101R, ENG 101W, MAT 101, MAT 115R, and STA 205R.

Textbooks are available at the NKU bookstore. To find/order your textbooks and course materials:
You can come to the NKU bookstore on our campus or order them online through the NKU bookstore website above.
Please note: If you are taking CMST 101/110, students will have digital course materials that will have the cost automatically added to their SBS tuition. Students will have access to their course materials from the first day of class.
Books may not be available for purchase until the month classes start. It is your responsibility to purchase your textbooks in time for use in class.
Please check your myNKU account for your account balance and statement. Tuition bills are emailed to your NKU email address and are usually available approximately one month prior to the start of class. Tuition is due to NKU by the first day of classes. To pay your tuition online, login to myNKU.
To mail in your tuition, please mail a check with your student’s student account number (on registration card) to:

Your course content, grades, and many assignments may be delievered through Canvas. To access Canvas, login to your Canvas account with your NKU username and password.
PLEASE NOTE: Professors choose when they want to activate your Canvas classes. Therefore, your class may/may not show up in Canvas until the week before or the first day of classes. If you have questions about your class or how it will use Canvas, please contact your professor.
