Register and Prepare for SBS

The SBS program will take care of your registration for any course designated for your high school and/or your NKU-sponsored Boone County Early College course!

If you’d like to print your schedule or access it in the future, please view “My Class Schedule”.

Course Advising:

Advising is highly recommended. Please check out our Dual-Credit Advising page for more information on how to schedule an advising appointment and/or transfer credits from other colleges/universities. 

Please note: students may not be permitted to take restricted 7-week sections (noted as OnlineA/LEC/ONLR in the registration system), courses taught at other high schools, MUSA courses, or the following reserved courses: ENG 101I, ENG 101R, ENG 101W, MAT 101, MAT 115R, and STA 205R.

1. Go to Campus and Online Registration in myNKU, and login with your NKU User ID and Password. A new tab will open when you click on the link; please refer back to this page to continue with your instructions.
2. Use the drop-down menus to select your “Program” and “Term.”
3. Use the search bar to enter the course prefix you’re looking for (e.g. SOC 101).
4. Select the section number of the course you want. Make sure the delivery mode, days and times of your section work for your high school schedule. Click the arrow on the right side of the entry and select "Add to Cart."
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for additional courses.
6. When you have finished adding courses to your cart, click "Register All."
   • If you registered successfully, your class selections will move to the "Booked" section, and you are now good to go.
   • If something prevents your from registering for a course, you will receive an error message. It may be that you do not meet the pre-requisites, that the section is full, or something else. If a permit is required, please fill out the permit request form. Otherwise, email nkusbs@nku.edu with questions.
7. You’ve finished registering! If you’d like to print your schedule or access it in the future, click View My Schedule.

Tips: 

• Remember, putting courses in your cart does not secure your seat in the class. You must complete the booking process.
• If you need to request a permit for a course (and you meet the pre-requisites), please visit SBS Course Permit Requests. 
  • Permits are section specific.
  • Permits will not be issued for 7 week courses.
  • Permits will not add a seat to full sections.
• If a class is full, we suggest checking back often to see if a seat has opened up; otherwise please select a different course or section.

Textbooks are available at the NKU bookstore. To find/order your textbooks and course materials:

1. Access the NKU Bookstore's website.
2. Click on “FIND COURSE MATERIALS" under the "COURSE MATERIALS & TEXTBOOKS” drop down menu. 
3. Input your course info and click "Retrieve Materials."

You can come to the NKU bookstore on our campus or order them online through the NKU bookstore website above. 

Please note: If you are taking CMST 101/110, students will have digital course materials that will have the cost automatically added to their SBS tuition. Students will have access to their course materials from the first day of class.

Books may not be available for purchase until the month classes start.  It is your responsibility to purchase your textbooks in time for use in class.

Please check your myNKU account for your account balance and statement. Tuition bills are emailed to your NKU email address and are usually available approximately one month prior to the start of class. To pay your tuition online, login to myNKU. 

1. Login with your NKU USERNAME and PASSWORD.
2. Select the "Student Billing" Tab.
3. Select the "Tuition Payment & Statement" tile.

To mail in your tuition, please mail a check with your student’s student account number (on registration card) to:

Be sure to include your name and your Student Account Number on the check for identification purposes. If you need your Student Account Number, please email nkusbs@nku.edu.

Your course content, grades, and many assignments may be delievered through Canvas. To access Canvas, login to your Canvas account with your NKU username and password. 

PLEASE NOTE: Professors choose when they want to activate your Canvas classes. Therefore, your class may/may not show up in Canvas until the week before or the first day of classes. If you have questions about your class or how it will use Canvas, please contact your professor.
