NKU does NOT offer a student health insurance plan for domestic students.
NKU does NOT require students to have health insurance (with the exception of International Students that are required by law to have insurance). However, the American health care system is very expensive and NKU strongly encourages ALL students to maintain adequate health insurance coverage. Fast and convenient access to health care is important for students to avoid disruption of their studies and significant financial hardship should major medical care be required due to an unforeseen illness or injury.
If you are a Kentucky resident and do not have health insurance, please visit the Kynect website to see if you qualify for health insurance assistance.
