NKU's original dual-credit program, featuring flexible offerings to meet your needs and interests.
An immersive experience where students follow specific curriculum and earn an associate's degree or certificate.
Where high school students with an intellectual disability take college classes while completing on-campus internships for career readiness.
Qualifying students who are working on earning their GED also take NKU courses at a reduced rate.
When you successfully complete a dual-credit course, you can apply the credit toward both your high school and college graduation requirements.
Note on Transferability: According to Kentucky state law, for any student wishing to transfer to another public college/university within the state of Kentucky, general education classes will transfer as general education credit. For students looking to attend a public college/university outside of Kentucky, a private college/university, or taking a class that isn't classified as general education, students are strongly encouraged to verify with the intended institution the transferability of the dual-credit course(s) they are wanting to take. It is up to each receiving institution to determine how they will award credit for dual-credit coursework.
Taking dual-credit courses allows you to test the waters of college before applying as a first-time degree seeking freshman in an environment that provides support from both the high school and college.
...is the percentage of students with dual-credit experience who graduate after 4 years or continue for a 5th year. This is 24% higher than those without dual-credit experience.
