Safe Colleges is a company that provides online workplace compliance training developed specifically for Higher Education, as well as other industries. We have partnered with Safe Colleges to provide training that allows NKU employees to stay up to date on compliance issues that affect all institutions of Higher Education and to help make NKU a safe place to learn, work, and visit.
Safe Colleges works with other institutions of Higher Education, including: University of Massachusetts, University of North Dakota, and Fairmont State University.
NKU also utilizes Safe Colleges’ online SDS & Chemical Management system as well as their Incident Tracking system. For questions regarding these two systems, please contact Audra Points (pointsa1@nku.edu).

Yes. NKU provides annual compliance refresher training to all employees. In 2018, the time frame for this training was changed and the training will now take place from mid-January to mid-February. This education allows NKU faculty and staff to stay up to date on compliance issues that affect them in their work for NKU.
The email you receive will be from Northern Kentucky University and will say “Safe Colleges Online Training” in the subject field. The From: field will say "Northern Kentucky University" and will also contain a string of letters and numbers with "@safecolleges.com" at the end.
The email will list your user name and the title of the courses that have been assigned to you as well as the due date and other pertinent information. If the course(s) assigned is not completed by the due date, you will receive weekly reminder emails.
