UPDATED Wed 4/22/2026 5:55pm ET:  Canvas Login Issues

2:00am ET:  Canvas reported the issue resolved and all services returned to normal operations.

9:00pm ET: Successful logins have improved, but Canvas still reports partial outage.  You may experience sporadic login success or failure, so please use with caution until the issue is resolved.

7:30pm ET: It has been determined that this outage stems from an issue on the Canvas service, not on the NKU authentication services.  Canvas acknowledges a partial outage affecting login.

It has been observed that mobile versions of Canvas may continue to function normally (Android and IOS).

Some users have reportedly been able to login via the website, but this should not be interpreted as a return to normal operations.  Access Canvas with caution (if possible) until Canvas informs us that the issue is fixed.

Starting at 5:55pm ET today, we started experiencing login issues with Canvas.  This affects instructors and students.

NKU IT is working to identify and resolve the issue to restore service ASAP.

IT's standard maintenance window occurs every Saturday from 12:00am to 6:00am.  Intermittent outages may occur during this time.
