Education: B.A. Middle Grades Education, Master’s in Teacher as a Leader

“From my very first semester at NKU Grant County to my last, I loved every moment. I enjoyed my classes, and the professors are amazing there—in both general education and concentration courses. It was so nice to receive the same attention I would get on campus right in my hometown. NKU Grant County is truly an awesome extension of NKU."

Career: Grant Co. Fiscal Court

“Working for the people of Grant County while simultaneously gaining an excellent education was only possible through enrollment at the Northern Kentucky University.  Working a full-time job during school is not an easy task, but the individual attention given by NKU’s staff was extraordinary.  Because they were overwhelmingly accommodating to my work schedule, I was able to build lasting connections within my community, which led to my current job.  I now serve on multiple boards and committees throughout my community, I work for an excellent organization, and I am again enrolled in a Master’s Program at the same University that made it all possible: NKU.”

Graduating Year: 2003

Education: Information Systems

Career: Northern Kentucky University IT

“NKU Grant County was just taking shape when I started in the fall of 1998, so I wasn't able to take full advantage of everything that it offers today. However, the center did allow me to take general education courses close to home, which meant I saved on gas and had more time to study. I was able to work part time and complete two internships that later led to my first full-time IT job. I've been an IT professional for 18 years, and now I lead a team of talented engineers and systems analysts.”

Graduating Year: 2001

Education: A.A.S. in Human Services

Career: Grant County Board of Education

“I thought I wanted to go away to college, but it wasn't for me. I started at NKU Grant County in 1998 and loved being close to home. I was able to keep my full-time job while taking classes since my job and school were only ten minutes apart. NKU Grant County had many wonderful professors and was the first step toward my career. I'm currently in my 13th year working for the Grant County Board of Education, and I can honestly say that I love my job."
