Teaching with Technology in a Hybrid Classroom

This recorded virtual event demonstrates classroom best practices, using new classroom equipment, and utilizing Zoom capabilities in the classroom.

Canvas

CITE has numerous Canvas resources available.  View them under "Quick-Start Resources for Faculty".

Zoom

View our Zoom page for assistance with synchronous instruction and virtual meetings.

Kaltura

Kaltura is the preferred tool to record and host lectures in Canvas.   Under "Quick-Start Resources for Faculty", learn how to enable Kaltura within Canvas and view resources for assistance.

Microsoft Office 365

Online versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are all available through Office 365.  To access them, simply log in to NKU Webmail.  Find what you need by clicking the menu icon in the top left corner.

Faculty can also download Microsoft Office on personally owned computers (Windows and Apple).

Microsoft OneDrive

All faculty, staff, and students automatically have free cloud storage with Microsoft OneDrive.  OneDrive allows you to easily share files with others at NKU.

Borrow Equipment

The Norse Tech Bar loans laptops, iPads, hot spots, and other equipment.  Submit a Service Request, then pick up your equipment at the Norse Tech Bar once it is ready.

Virtual Desktop

NKU offers a convenient solution for accessing NKU software and drives wherever you are from any device - a virtual desktop.

If you use VMware, remember that you are accessing an NKU virtual desktop, not your personal workstation.  All files not saved using cloud storage (e.g. OneDrive) or to the K: or M: drives will be lost when you disconnect.

Technical Help

Need help with something above, or anything else?  The IT Help Desk can assist you.
