The Martin Signature Collections consists of signatures of famous and not so famous individuals.
In 1912, Josephine McCorkle was a college student trying to earn expense money by publishing a book of quotations. The bulk of the collection contains requests for quotes sent to politicians, educators, artistic and literary figures, business and religious leaders. Some of the more famous people include Helen Keller, Booker T. Washington, Thomas Edison and Woodrow Wilson.
