“Dr. Lambert-South is a driving force of inspiration on the NKU campus, particularly for women. She is increasingly involved on campus and enforces a remarkably high standard with her students, while simultaneously encouraging a class atmosphere of compassion and understanding for the challenges of higher education. Not only does she serve students as an educator, she also finds the time to chair communications IRB board and study law at Chase. There's nothing she can't do. An utter inspiration."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
I love the opportunity and optimism that NKU represents. As a university, NKU is young, nimble and creative when it comes to responding to the educational needs of the area.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
I enjoy studying and working at Starbucks–a nook in the corner. I love it because I get to overhear students–what is on their mind, what they are worried about, what they enjoy? It helps to remind me of everything that students face outside of my classroom.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Grit.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I really enjoy working out–spinning and Pilates soothe my brain.

What is your greatest passion?
My research is my passion. I study families and the communication that defines them. Everybody has a story, and every family has a story. Curating and telling those stories is my life’s work.
