“Autumn has shined in her time here since being brought on board to lead the department's community engagement efforts and interpersonal crimes investigations. Autumn empowers the community by teaching self-defense courses and is a great role model for women who aspire to serve their communities. And she does it all while being an awesome coworker, friend, mother, wife and all-around great person. NKU is fortunate to have her!"

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
My favorite thing about NKU is all the opportunities on campus that challenge me to grow. I can have a conversation with someone who has totally different life circumstances than me, and it forces me to re-evaluate what I thought was “normal.” I am able to hear about a piece of art, in a gallery on campus, and the artist’s motivation. This too forces me to reconsider some of my beliefs. I am constantly being challenged here at NKU to see the world as a much bigger place, with a wide variety of experiences. I am excited every day to come to work to learn something new, and sometimes it is about myself.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
My favorite spot on campus is the Fine Arts building.  I love to walk around the halls and hear the students working on their music.  If you are lucky sometimes you catch them outside putting on a concert. I am not musically talented at all, but I admire those who are.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU
The first word that comes to mind when I think of NKU is “change."  I graduated from NKU in 2000. It had been almost 20 years before I came back.  I cannot believe all the changes that have taken place in the last 20 years! This place is amazing now!

What do you like to do with your free time?
In my free time I love to be with my three children and spouse.  Also working out is in my DNA. I enjoy being in the gym, biking, running, swimming or teaching a boot camp.  The more physical the better!

What is your greatest passion?
My greatest passion is connecting with others. I teach female self-defense classes. I am passionate about building women up, helping them recognize their strength and value.
