What is your favorite thing about NKU?
The people. The size of the university gives it’ students, faculty and staff the opportunity to really get to know each other. There are so many people here that love this university and want it to succeed, but more importantly, want its students to succeed. It is great working with so many people who ultimately all want the same thing.
Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
Loch Norse. I grew up in Chicago and have always been drawn to the water—lakes, river, ponds. Whenever I walk across campus, I make sure I walk by Loch Norse. Just think it’s one of the prettiest locations on campus and so peaceful.
What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?Up-and-coming. Not sure that’s one word, but being a relatively new university, I feel NKU has had a chance to be innovative since the university is still evolving and establishing its identity. I have only been here for six years, and I have been amazed at the changes that have taken place in that time.
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
Athletics has always been a significant part of my life, so even in my free time I’m probably watching some kind of athletic event. I love being outside, walking/hiking and I love to read.
What is your greatest passion?
Working with our student-athletes. Helping develop leadership skills; recognizing their accomplishments, not just athletic achievements and promoting those any way we can; Supporting them during their careers and helping them achieve their goals; and providing opportunities for them to grow while at NKU. It is a different journey for each of our student-athletes, we just enjoy being a part of it, watching them grow and achieving their goals!
