What is your favorite thing about NKU?
I work with great people! Everywhere I turn, there are smiling faces and I know I can count on them to support me no matter what task I am working on at the time. I look forward to coming to work every day.
Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
I love watching the ducks and geese around the lake. I especially enjoy seeing the babies grow each spring. They remind me to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Fast-paced. It's exciting to see all the new things happening at NKU. It makes my job challenging and engaging. I get to work on new projects all the time.
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my husband or watching a movie with a friend. I also like reading. It helps me relax at the end of a long day. I especially enjoy historical novels, books that address ethical issues and Amish stories.
What is your greatest passion?
My greatest passion is teaching. I wanted to be a teacher since I was in grade school. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than seeing a student’s eyes light up when they finally solved the problem. While I am not in the classroom right now, I enjoyed 38 years of teaching mathematics to high school and undergraduate students at all levels.
Tell us anything else about yourself and/or NKU that you want folks to know.
There is no place I would rather be at this time in my career than NKU. Throughout my almost 28 years at NKU, I have worked with so many wonderful people and continue to meet and collaborate with new NKU folks all the time.
