What is your favorite thing about NKU?
The people. I have the most amazing colleagues and students that I learn from, admire and am inspired by daily.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
A very small office in Landrum that I shared with multiple colleagues when I first arrived at NKU. The space was so small that we had to announce if we were backing up our chairs! There is something about the space where your story begins and the friendships that started in that room. I came to NKU not knowing one single person, and my colleagues literally became my family.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Growth. I have grown so much as a person, teacher, mentor and colleague since arriving at NKU 14 years ago. The university has grown as well, adding new undergraduate and graduate programs and three new buildings since I arrived.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
The majority of my free time is spent with family and friends. My amazing husband Matt and two incredible boys, Mathew and Maxton, are the focus of most of my free time. I also enjoy spending time with extended family and friends usually involving outstanding food and conversations. Finally, my free time escape (we all need one) is watching documentaries and reality television.

What is your greatest passion?
I live to travel. I love traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures, especially with my family.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or NKU that you want folks to know.
I think the most important thing that I want people to know, especially in terms of being a valiant woman, is that you can have it all. NKU is a special place in that it highly values teaching, is committed to student success and also creates space for a healthy work/life balance. I taught at three other universities, but I knew when I arrived at NKU that I had found my home.
