"Jayna leads our effort in telling NKU’s story through engaging content and web pages. Each day, you can find her feature stories in NKU Magazine in both print and on the digital storytelling platform. Her vivid writing can also be found in Admissions recruitment materials and many high priority university communications. Jayna’s talents and skills extend beyond writing and web editing. She edits internal and external messaging for the university and has also served as the unofficial point person for university web design needs in that position’s absence. She supports the entire university in so many ways. She is a passionate storyteller who is dedicated to excellence. Colleagues describe Jayna as a very caring person who works tirelessly to assist others and to solve problems. Each December, she brings the spirit of holiday giving to the Marketing and Communications team by organizing the sponsorship of a family. Jayna thoughtfully plans and buys all of the gifts as if she were shopping for her own family. Her thoughtfulness and kindness is exceptional."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
The people! I love the close-knit atmosphere on campus. One of the best parts about my job is that I have the opportunity to meet new people and learn something new every single day.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
The outdoor amphitheater. During the warmer months, it’s so full of life! And the view of Loch Norse is beautiful. It’s a nice place to relax when you need a few minutes of sunshine.

What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?

Family.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
There is nothing I love more than spending time with my husband and our 2-year-old daughter. They are the loves of my life! When they're asleep and I have quiet moments to myself, you can find me cuddled up with a book.

What is your greatest passion?
I’ve always been a curious person, so I love learning (and in turn, teaching) new things! One of the best parts about being on a college campus is that I never stop learning. As a mom, I have the opportunity to teach my daughter every single day. And hopefully, after I receive my master's degree in English, I'll be able to take that passion into the classroom.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or NKU that you want folks to know.
My claim to fame: I was on the front page of The Franklin Times the day I was born—Jan. 4, 1989. I was the first baby born in Clinton County, Indiana, that year.
