Dear Campus Community:

We received the sad news of the passing of one of our graduate students, Lamar Chames, earlier this month. A resident of Covington, Lamar was 26  and enrolled in our Master of Business Administration program in the Haile/US Bank College of Business.

Lamar will be missed as a member of our Norse Family, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Every member of our campus community is important, and we care very deeply about each and every one of you.

With finals week and the end of the semester approaching, we know this is a stressful time of the year and losing a fellow student can add to the emotion toll. Anyone impacted by Lamar’s passing can reach out to members of Student Affairs, and there is support available by calling our Health, Counseling, and Student Wellness Office at 572-5650. We also have a 24-hour crisis line at 859-572-7777, in addition to the national crisis line available at 1-800-784-2433 or by texting 741741.

Please remember that you are never alone, and it is okay to reach out and ask for the help and support you need. We are all members of our Norse family.

With my deepest sympathy,
Ashish Vaidya
