We offer a health savings account through Chard Snyder if you enroll in a high deductible health option.
Welcome to Chard Snyder!
You have recently enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA) with Chard Snyder. Where do you go from here?
Access your HSA account online or via the mobile app to view important information and find helpful resources.
Log In to Your Online Account
Visit the Chard Snyder website and click the blue Login button in the upper right corner of the home page. Under Participants in the blue area, click Access Your FSA,
HRA, HSA Advantage, Commuter Benefits Account(s) to view the login page.
If this is the first time you have logged in, select Get Started under New User and complete the steps.
If you have previously accessed your account, use the Existing User section. Use the Forgot Username or Forgot Password links for assistance if needed.
Once your plan has started, use your online account to check your plan balance(s), request transactions, sign up for text alerts, update your personal information, add beneficiaries and more! Please make sure that you have a beneficiary assigned to your account. If no beneficiary is designated, additional documentation will be required in order for your survivors to receive a distribution and the money in the account may be subject to additional taxes.
In the event more information is needed to verify your demographic data before your account can be opened, our HSA Department will reach out to you requesting the appropriate documentation.

Use the Chard Snyder Benefit Card
You will receive two Chard Snyder Benefit Cards in the mail.
The Chard Snyder Benefit Card is an easy way for you to directly access the money in your account(s). It works like a debit card, but utilizes smart technology so that funds can only be used for eligible expenses.
Please note: If you already have Chard Snyder Benefit Cards from previous plan years, you will not receive new cards. Your cards remain active for five years and you will automatically be sent two new cards shortly before they expire. All of your Chard Snyder account funds can be accessed using the same benefit card.
IRS rules regulate HSAs. You can make or receive contributions to an account if you, the account holder, are:
· Enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan
· Not enrolled in another medical plan (such as spouse’s medical plan)
· Not covered by a Flexible Spending Account (such a spouse’s flexible spending account)
· Not enrolled in Medicare (Parts A, B or D)
· Not claimed as a dependent under another’s tax return
If you meet these rules, NKU contributes to a HSA account for you with United Missouri Bank (UMB). The annual NKU contribution to the account is shown under maximum annual contributions. Enrollment is NOT automatic. You must enroll in an account to receive the NKU contribution.
You can also contribute to the account. You are not required to contribute in order to receive the NKU contribution. If you contribute, your contributions will be before-tax from each paycheck throughout the year.
NKU contributions and yours, if applicable, are prorated and made from each paycheck you receive. You will not have any money in your HSA until you receive your first pay after your coverage in the High Deductible Plan becomes effective.
