Instructions for each device

Windows Client

Visit https://view.nku.edu/.  Click “Install VMware Horizon Client”.

Find the "VMware Horizon Client for Windows" and click "Go to Downloads" on the right side.

 

On the next page, click the blue "Download" button.

On your computer, double click the download file and follow the prompts.

After the Install has finished it will prompt to restart the computer. If everything you have open is saved you can reboot by clicking Yes.

Either in the Start Menu, or on your desktop, double click the Horizon View icon.

Double click the "view.nku.edu" cloud icon.

Double click on the virtual machine you would like to connect to.

The desktop will launch full screen to cover your own; this is the VMware Horizon View virtual machine. You can resize the window, if you need to.

When finished simply logoff the virtual machine.

Mac Client

Visit https://view.nku.edu/.  Click “Install VMware Horizon Client”.

Find the "VMware Horizon Client for Windows" and click "Go to Downloads" on the right side.

 

On the next page, click the blue "Download" button.

A download window will appear.  Keep "Open with" selected, and click "OK" to begin the installation process.  Follow the prompts to install VMware.

Once VMware is started, click the "view.nku.edu" icon.

Double click on the virtual desktop you would like to use.

Enter your NKU username and password to login.

The desktop will launch full screen to cover your own; this is the VMware Horizon View virtual machine. You can resize the window, if you need to.

When finished simply logoff the virtual machine.

iPhone/iPad Client

Search for "vmware" in the App Store.  Find "VMware Horizon Client" and tap "Get".

Tap the "Horizon" app to open it.

For "Server", enter "view.nku.edu".  For "Description", enter "NKU".  Tap "Connect".
