Located at 1421 Holman Avenue in Covington, Kentucky, Linden Grove Cemetery is the oldest Protestant cemetery in Kenton County. Established around the year 1835, Linden Grove was officially consecrated 18 September 1843. Burials contained within Linden Grove Cemetery consist of mostly white Protestant residents of Covington, Kentucky, though a number of African Americans are also buried there.
At the time Samuel Walker purchased the cemetery in 1858, it was thriving. With the building of Ft. Mitchell's Highland Cemetery in 1869, business for Linden Grove waned. Early in the 1900's the cemetery lapsed into a dilapidated state and was released into receivership due to financial issues.
The collection contains Linden Grove interment and lot sale books, as well as papers from the 1800's to the mid-1900's.
