Visitors can purchase a printable day permit online for $8.75/day and with this option are not limited to parking in one of the three garages. Visitors will need to create a Guest Account in the NKU Parking Portal. Once an account is created they need to Log In and click the Purchase Permit Option. Choose the Day Visitor Permit option, select the effective and expiration date of the permit, add your vehicle information and complete the transaction online.
Once the transaction is completed you will be able to print and use your permit. The permit must be displayed on your dashboard and can only be used in the Student Parking or Permit Parking lots. The permit can only be used in the vehicle that was assigned to the permit. Any misuse or falsifying of the permit will result in parking fines or possible vehicle immobilization.
Students & Faculty/Staff can purchase a day permit for friends and family who visit campus; they will need to log in using their NKU user name and password under the Standard Log In, and follow the same process outlined above. They must enter details for the vehicle that will be using the printable permit rather than linking their own vehicle.
Recipients of the Purple Heart award whose vehicles carry a Purple Heart license plate may use any of the four marked parking spots without additional charge or registration. These spots are located on Short Nunn Drive, in Lot I, University Garage, and Kenton Garage. We thank all of our veterans for their service.
If you do not buy a printable permit, visitor parking is located in the Welcome Center, University, and Kenton Garages (Interactive Campus Map). Always pull a ticket as you enter the garage, even if the gates are up. If you do not pull a ticket you must press the lost ticket button and pay the maximum day rate of $8.50. Garages accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Cash (at the Pay on Foot station) only. If you cannot provide proper payment at exit you will receive a $16 non-payment of garage fees citation.
Every garage now utilizes a pay on foot station similar to the ones used at Newport on the Levee and Fountain Square. You can pay for your garage ticket here using cash or credit for a much faster exit. There is no longer an exit lane that takes cash, but both still take credit card. The pay on foot stations are located as follows:
