New Students Starting Classes in Fall of 2025

New Students that live in Ohio and Indiana will be offered the Kentucky resident tuition rate.

2025 tuition rates will be approved by the NKU Board of Regents on June 11, 2025.

    (1) Metro Rate: The former undergraduate Metro rate (prior to Fall 2017 only) is being phased out over the next 6 years.  Effective Fall 2019 - New incoming full-time students may be charged the regular non-resident rate but qualify for the EDGE award

    (2) Indiana Rate: Degree seeking residents of the following counties in Indiana are eligible for this rate: Dearborn, Franklin, Jefferson, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland.  

    (3) Ohio Reciprocity: A special rate for undergraduate students who are working on an initial bachelor's degree and meet ALL of the following three conditions. 

    a.  Are a resident of certain Ohio counties: Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Hamilton, Highland, or Warren.

    b. Have an associate degree from one of the following Ohio institutions: University of Cincinnati (including UC Blue Ash College and UC Clermont College), Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Clark State Community College, Miami University - Hamilton, Miami University - Middletown or Southern State Community College.

    c.  Have submitted all necessary credentials to the NKU Office of Undergraduate Admissions by appropriate deadlines. Fall deadline is August 1, spring deadline is December 1, and summer deadline is May 1. The following programs are excluded from this tuition program: Early Childhood Education (Birth - Kindergarten) and Nursing.

*Summer tuition is not capped for full time students. Tuition is charged per credit hour in the summer semester.

*If you register for a course after the initial tuition due date, that tuition is due upon registration.
 
*Those students who elect to audit a course pay the same fees per hour as courses being taken for credit.
 
*Students that are enrolled in a mix of UG, Grad and Law courses will be charged one tuition rate for the semester, based on the student's highest program level.  Please see the Matriculated Student Tuition Policy.
 
*A change of major that takes place after the last day to add a full session class for the semester will not affect your tuition rate for that semester. The tuition change will take effect at the start of the following semester.
